On a bitterly cold morning, with gale-force winds sweeping through, our dedicated Couch to 5K group celebrated a fantastic milestone by completing the 5K Parkrun at Houghton Hall on Saturday, 23rd November 2024. Just nine weeks ago, they were struggling to run continuously for a minute – now they’ve conquered 5K! It’s an incredible achievement, and they should all feel immensely proud.

Heartfelt congratulations to Millie Parker, Su Parker, Mandy Gatward, and Vicky Hydes, who are pictured with their medals, proudly standing alongside their supportive running partners.

A special shout-out also goes to Will Randell, who completed his 5K Parkrun in Sizewell last week, and to Debbie Levy, who plans to take on her 5K Parkrun challenge in December when she returns from her travels.

We are deeply grateful to Mike Jackson for his dedicated mentorship and training, as well as to Amanda and Christina for their unwavering support and encouragement throughout the training sessions.
Well done to all – you’ve truly earned those medals! Now, about doing that 10K run next…….
