Indoor Go Karting

Our recent poll asking people which social sporting activity they would like to do first came back with an overwhelming 80% preference for organising a go karting evening as our first activity.

This will be held at the indoor TeamSport venue in Woodside, Dunstable. on either a Friday or Saturday evening (again, this was the most popular choice in the poll results). You will get to race a 200cc petrol kart capable of 40mph, round the 500m track which runs across multiple levels. As we should have enough people who want to take part, we will book exclusive use of the track for our own group ‘Grand Prix’ event, complete with practice and qualifying sessions, then the race itself then followed by a trophy presentation for the top 3 drivers. There is a bar selling food and drinks as well as a spectating area for those who do not wish to drive. We expect the evening to cost around £45-£50 per person for the driving experience. Full details and sign-up will be announced in the coming weeks.

As places will be limited (due to the number of karts allowed on the circuit), priority booking will be given to current CSC members first, then any remaining places will be available to guests. If you or someone who wants to come with you are not members, and you don’t want to miss your chance to join this great night out, now might be a good time to join CSC.

Other Activities

Although Go Karts were the top choice for a sporting social activity, there was also interest in 10-pin bowling and crazy golf so we will look to do those at some point. Quite a few people also expressed an interest in paddle boarding at either Willen Lake or Box End Park, so that is also something we will look to do once the weather is a bit warmer. Also mentioned were paint balling, Go Ape, and white-water rafting. As long as there is sufficient interest, we are happy to arrange any and all of these activities in due course. If you have any other suggestions, or good contacts for putting on any of these activities, please let us know.
